Hey everyone,
Sorry it's been so long since the last post, but I figured I would wait until I saw most of you to post again. It was so great to go back to Texas for homecoming. I very much enjoyed seeing everyone, and if I didn't see you, I do apologize.
I do admit, coming back to the city after seeing everybody was a little hard (naturally), but when I saw the lights of Manhattan from the plane ride back, I remembered how extremely lucky I am to call this city oasis my residence. Not many people can say they actually lived out their dream, but I'm well on my way to being able to say that.
Work is going great. I'm learning a lot from the people around me and this whole "grown-up" thing is coming a little easier these days. I have found myself being affected by my work. Now when Chelsea and I go to Target, I always drag her to the hair care isle to see how our brand (Clairol) is measuring up to the others. Chelsea is a trooper and listens to my insights, but I know she just wants to head over to the Kitchen Aid isle!
So Fall and Winter have started a romance and are flirting with each other like crazy. The past couple of days have been cool and I've had to break out the sweaters, but I love it (reference my previous post).
Chelsea and I took to the streets of the West Village to take pictures of the trees changing colors, and here are a couple of examples. We want to rent a car and head up-state because we hear it looks like the trees are "on fire" up there, but who knows if we'll get up there.
Right before I came home, I saw the taping of Chelsea and I's new favorite show, 6 Degrees on ABC. The basis of the show is a theory that says you are connected to anyone through 6 people.
It is based in NYC and the reason Chels and I like it so much is because it is very true. There have been numerous occasions where we have made the "6 Degrees" connection. If you haven't watched it yet, I'm telling you it's worth checking out.
Funny story about Halloween in the city: Chelsea and I didn't really have big plans until my friend called and said he had a buddy that needed help promoting the new Meat Loaf album. He said there was money involved, so naturally, Chelsea and I jumped on the opportunity. So the job was projecting Meat Loaf's new album cover on the outside of the Virgin Mega Store in Union Square. Remember, it was Halloween so we saw some crazy "New York" costumes.
It was interesting to say the least and I think Meat Loaf sold millions of extra copies because of our effort.
In fact, we were so good they asked us back to do the same thing in Times Square two days later. Meat Loaf was playing the Palace so we projected the album cover and passed out free candy to tourist. Yes, we were those annoying people saying "free candy, get your free Meat Loaf candy." We quickly corrected our dialog wording because people took it as us passing out meat loaf flavored candy. Chelsea and I took the job knowing it would be a fun story to tell and after completing it and meeting some die-hard Meat Loaf fans, it was just that, a good story to tell.So all-in-all, things are going well. I will get back on a normal posting pattern so be sure and check up every week.
